Compton Young Ladies Vying for the Opportunity To Be Crowned The Next Miss Compton

Who will be the 2018 Miss Compton and Miss Teen Compton? For the second year in a row, the Douglas F. Dollarhide Community Center will be the site of The Miss Compton Pageant.

The Miss Compton™ and Miss Teen Compton™ pageant will take place on Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

The pageant is a celebration of beauty, style, accomplishments and cultural appreciation, emphasizing the opportunity for personal development while serving the community. Shanice M. Reed has been the director of the organization since 2011, after winning the title and representing the City of Compton during her reign.

emma_sharifThis year’s event is hosted by Councilperson Emma Sharif of District 4, endorsed by the City of Compton. The Miss Compton Pageant strives to continue to shine a positive light on the City of Compton and inner-city communities.

Additional sponsors include District 4 Councilperson Emma Sharif, Compton 125 Historical Society, Darla’s Dollhouse, CityPride Magazine and KLIQ 1670 AM. Sponsor and volunteer opportunities still available. Contact info@misscompton.com.

Titleholders of Miss Compton & Miss Teen Compton will win a $1,000 scholarship and a chance to represent their local community through various appearances, parades and exposure opportunities during the one-year reign. They will also win the chance to be featured in a magazine spread, a photo shoot and modeling opportunities, crown and sash.

Other recognitions include Miss Grand Talent, People Choice Award, Miss GPA, Miss Photogenic, Community Service Award, Miss Inspirational and Miss Congeniality.

The community at large can vote for their choice via Facebook, Instagram or via the website.

Current contestants for the 2018 Miss Compton include Yoselin Sanchez, Kimberly Garcia, Sequoya Gaston, Maya Williams, Erin Johnson, Marrayja Graham, Myriah Smiley, Regina Devaughn and LaShania Davis.

Current contestants for the 2018 Miss Teen Compton include Rosie Rodriguez and Leila Moore.
