NixKinecta 43rd Thanksgiving Food Drive, held Sun., Nov. 20, 2016 at Jesse Owens Park in South Los Angeles feeds 1,000’s of families.
Thousands of local families identified by community-based service organizations received a grocery gift certificate and bag of traditional Thanksgiving food items, courtesy of the Kinecta and Nix Neighborhood Lending Annual Holiday Food Drive, held on Sunday, November 20 at Jesse Owens Park Gymnasium in Los Angeles.
Now in its 43st year, the Holiday Food Drive is an opportunity for employees of Kinecta Federal Credit Union and its subsidiary Nix Neighborhood Lending to partner with over 40 local nonprofit organizations and churches to provide temporary relief to families in need.
On hand at the event to recognize the collaborative effort between Kinecta/Nix and community partners were State Assemblyman Mike Gipson and nationally recognized Watts community activist “Sweet” Alice Harris.
Product and corporate sponsors included MoneyGram, FIS Global, Autoland, Green Dot, CURevest, Compliance Plus, Mahatma Rice and Mrs. Cubbison’s.
