Author Linda Hervieux Discusses Book on WWII’s African-American Army Unit


The Department of History and the CSUDH Bookstore present two Lunchtime Talks with Linda Hervieux, author of Forgotten, from 11:30am to 12:30 Monday, Nov. 14 and Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the CSUDH Bookstore.


In telling the story of D-Day’s black soldiers of the 320th Barrage Balloon Battalion, “Forgotten” offers a vivid account of the tension between racial politics and national service in wartime America and a moving narrative of human bravery and perseverance in the face of injustice.

Linda Hervieux is a journalist and photographer whose work has appeared in publications including The New York Times, the International Herald Tribune, the New York Daily News, and the Daily Beast. This is her first book.

Hervieux’s talk will include a multimedia presentation and will conclude with a book signing.
